Meet at 4:00 PM in 3rd Room C on the first floor in The League!
There we will brief you on background information on scholarships for undocumented students and increasing diversity on on campus!
On November 8th, the University of Michigan kicks off its capital campaign, "Victors for Michigan." With a fundraising goal of over $1 billion, the University lists student aid as the focus of this campaign. But which students are their focus?
In the past decades, diversity on campus has only declined. In 2012, 5% of undergraduate students were black, and only 4% were Latin@. Undocumented students continue to lack representation on campus and will not be granted financial assistance equal to their peers when they arrive on campus. We as students are fighting for higher minority and undocumented enrollment, and we call on the University use the Victors for Michigan capital campaign to meet these communities' unmet financial needs.
The Coalition for Tuition Equality and The Coalition for Queer People of Color invite you to join us at the Victors for Michigan Campaign Kickoff. With over a thousand students, alumni, and donors in attendance, this is our chance to make our voices heard. Join us as we call on the Michigan community to live up to their claims of diversity as a value and to gather support for undocumented students priorities in this capital campaign.
